Todd and Rick will both be at the Western Idaho Fly Fishing Expo this weekend (January 5-6, 2024). We’ll have our PNW Spey lines there at the Idaho Angler booth to see, purchase, and help casters find the right line for their Two-Hand outfit.
We'll also be happy to answer any questions about the lines and may be able to cast a few of them with interested folks on the indoor pond.
Todd and I were both at the Boise Western Idaho Fly Fishing Expo two weeks ago. About 3,000 people came to the Friday and Saturday event, where we participated in a number of casting and teaching clinics.
While at the Expo, we talked with many of our TH students, fellow TH casters, and several fly shops about our new PNW Spey Lines. Excitement is building in the TH community for our lines and the performance they deliver.
The cold January weather relented and Sunday morning after the Expo, we conducted a small casting clinic on the Boise River with several FFI Casting Instructors, including Shauna Williams and Brady Kallas from Idaho Angler and Russ Carpenter and Sarah Trenschel from the Golden Gate Casting Club who were in Boise for the Expo. It was a beautiful crisp morning and we had a great time casting the 525 line on 7 weight TH rods, and the 575 line on 8 weight rods.
This week we developed (and just published on the website) two new sections.
The first, is FAQs -- Frequently Asked Questions -- which answer questions about line design, grains weights, and so on.
We'll add to it as new questions arise.
The second section -- Casting Notes and Tips -- presents our thoughts and recommendations for casting with the PNW Scandi Pro lines for casters of differing skill levels.
